History of Queenston Heights Restaurant
The first Queenston Heights Restaurant was built in 1900, run by an independent concessionaire. The Niagara Parks Commission took over the restaurant in 1920, first enlarging it, and then almost entirely rebuilding it in 1921. In 1940, the original restaurant was demolished as a new restaurant had been built on the edge of the escarpment to take advantage of the view of the Niagara River and countryside.
